My Stay at Hotel San Cristobal

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel San Cristobal in Todos Santos, Mexico, and it was an unforgettable experience. I was there for a wedding and so we had the whole hotel reserved for the wedding guests, making it feel like a private oasis. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a beautiful, modern design that made me feel right at home.

One of the things I loved most about the hotel was the location. This is the first international hotel by the Bunkhouse Group and it's situated right on the beach, giving me easy access to all the water activities that Cabo is known for. When packing for this trip, I kept asking '“What Would Stevie Nicks Wear?” The vibes of this hotel are very rock-star desert chic. So I had lots of flowing dresses, boots, and band tees. The hotel sits on Punta Lobos, a beautiful, empty beach between Pescadero and Todos Santos on the Pacific Ocean overlooking the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. It's about a one-hour drive from the San Jose del Cabo airport and the hotel offers transfers.

I would start every morning at the hotel with breakfast at Benno, the main restaurant. They serve contemporary Mexican cuisine. Some of my favorites were Huevos Motulenos and Chilaquiles paired with Mexican Hot Chocolate.

The pool was at the heart of the hotel, and with tons of floaties for that perfect photo op. That combined with the comfortable loungers and the staff on hand to get you a fresh refill of your drink, good luck dragging yourself away. Some of my favorites from the Pool Bar Menu were the Ceviche San Cristobal and Tacos Baja washed down with Cristobal Collins and Green Smashes. They also had a different homemade frozen popsicle each day. My favorite was the mango popsicle with the tajin sprinkled on it.

Set against the backdrop of an emerald green pool overlooking the deep blue Pacific, the décor features vibrant patterned concrete tiles intermixed with colorful textiles and furniture. Bright pink inflatable rings scattered across the pool, surrounded by plenty of umbrellas. Being a boutique hotel, it only had 32 rooms, but because of the size of each room and the layout, it seemed so much bigger. There were tons of little nooks to hang out in away from the main part of the hotel. As an introvert, this was a godsend. Socializing can be overwhelming, but I didn't want to hang out in my hotel room whenever I needed a break. Having the library, rooftop, church, bar area, and the various nooks throughout the hotel was great for taking a quick 20-minute timeout.

I also appreciated that the hotel was close to many restaurants, bars, and shops, making it easy to explore downtown Todos Santos. We went at the beginning of July, so temperatures were high during the day, but by nightfall, it was perfectly comfortable.

Overall, I highly recommend the Hotel San Cristobal to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Cabo. The beautiful location, comfortable rooms, amazing food, and friendly staff all made for a truly unforgettable experience. I can't wait to go back!
